Electrical Incidents In Pools

A recent press release by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals® was very informative on preventing electrocutions in and around pools and spas (pool safety). Interestingly, the article cited a 2014 National Fire Protection Association presentation during which they advised that most aquatic related accidents for electrical shock happen in public and private marinas rather than pools which contradicts a Today Show broadcast during which they stated that most of these incidents occur in pools.

APSP has added their input on the subject and emphasizes the importance of hiring a pool/spa professional who adheres to the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and compliance with the National Electrical Code.
